Webpage 1 - EXISITNG IMAGES

PK image is so pleased with the work you have completed for them! They think you are a bit of an IT GENIUS!!!

Now they really want some artwork doing that will make their company look trendy and cool. They want to use the same artwork for posters, their website and even as the wall decoration for their shops and office recepetion!!

First things first though! The company wants you to collect a portfolio of different images and comment on how good and bad they are. Read below for more details!!

Task 1 - What makes an image suitable??

Watch the videos to learn about the different types of image and how images are used appropriately. The video also talks about audience, file size and the image's message. LOTS TO LEARN HERE!

Task 2 - Create a portfolio

a) Collect at least ONE image from at least TWO of the following sources.

  • Newspapers, magazines etc
  • On-screen images; artwork, backgrounds, buttons etc
  • Images printed on different surfaces; posters, packaging, labels, signs.
  • Maps, diagrams or plans.

b) Place them in your folder to make a portfolio of research.

Task 3 - Annotate your portfolio

a) Go through your portfolio image by image.

b) ANNOTATE your images by talking about the points below;

• audience and purpose of image
• suitability for purpose
• medium used for image

c) Watch the VIDEO for more help if needed.

MERIT/DISTINCTIONS - Collect images from 3 sources or more. Talk about the message of the image (if any), the size of the image and whether it id effective or not.
