Webpage 3 - COLLECTING YOUR IMAGES
Time to prepare! You need to COLLECT
or DRAW images from different sources.
These sources must be from the Internet,
Freehand and a scanner or digital camera. REMEMBER to get
images that are appropriate for AUDIENCE, PURPOSE and TECHNICAL
aspects (resolution, size, file type etc)
When you get your images make sure you
give them file names that are appropriate! You will be marked
on this!! You also need to make a table recording the filenames
and locations of the files you collect. |
| BEFORE YOU DO THE TASKS-
record table. |
1.
DOWNLOAD the RECORD
TABLE.
2. As
you collect your images in tasks 1, 2, 3 etc fill out the
record table.
3. YOU MUST FILL OUT THE FIRST
5 COLUMNS FOR EACH OF THE IMAGES YOU COLLECT.
4. REGULARLY SAVE your
Record table as you collect images. |

| Task 1 - Draw graphics in
Freehand (Vector) |
1.
Watch the videos to learn how to use Freehand.
2. Create
some graphics (at least 2) to be used in your final composition.
USE AS MANY TOOLS AS POSSIBLE (watch the videos!!!)

3. Try and make them as complicated
as possible!
4. Save them as an appropriate
file type with an approriate name.
5. SAVE THEM IN A FOLDER CALLED
VECTOR.

| Task 2 - Collect some Internet
images (Bitmap) |
1.
Collect at least 4 images from the Internet.
2. REMEMBER, keep an eye on resolution,
size and file type (JPEG or GIF)
3. Collect images that are appropriate
4. Save them as an appropriate
file type with an approriate name.
5. SAVE THEM IN A FOLDER CALLED
BITMAP.
6. REMEMBER

| Task 3- Collect some External
images (Bitmap) |
1.
Use a SCANNER and/or a DIGITAL CAMERA to capture some more
images
CAMERA - Photos of firends or in
fact anything that is appropriate for your audience and purpose.
SCANNER - Your own art work done
by hand? Image from a magazine?
IF
POSSIBLE, SCREENSHOT YOURSELF USING THE SOFTWARE TO DO THE
ABOVE.
2. Save them as an appropriate
file type with an approriate name.
3. SAVE THEM IN A FOLDER CALLED
"EXTERNAL BITMAP".
4. REMEMBER
TO FILL OUT YOUR RECORD TABLE |

| What you should have in your
folder |
- You should have a collection of BITMAP and VECTOR
images
- A RECORD TABLE listing ALL the images you have
collected for use.
- SCREENSHOTS of you using Freehand and other software
