Webpage 1 - EXISITNG AUDIO CLIPS

PK image is a company that sells clothes and footwear for teens and young adults. You have just made them a Flash animation to go on their new website. What they want now is an audio advertisment. This audio clip can either play along side your animation or be produced as a radio advert.

You will design create and publish the audio clip, recording your work by taking regular screenshots.

First things first though! The company wants you to research and report on at least TWO different exisitng audio clips. You need to report on the good and bad points of an audio clip. THINGS TO LOOK FOR: APPROPRIATE FOR AUDIENCE? PARTS TOO LOUD OR TOO QUIET, PARTS TOO FAST OR TOO SLOW, SPEECH USED WELL, MOOD/PURPOSE ADDED TO BY MUSIC, SPEECH OR EFFECTS etc.

Watch the video to learn about the different types of audio clips available on the web and elsewhere. LISTEN CAREFULLY to the advantages and disadvantages of each type of audio clip.

DOWNLOAD the file below called "SND-RESEARCH". These are the criteria you will test some audio clips with.

To download, right-click the file and click "SAVE TARGET AS"

1. Find some audio clips on the Internet. These could be a radio advert, a film trailer soundtrack or music clip.

Matrix trailer: link 1 | audio only

Level crossing dangers advert: link 1

2. For each audio clip you listen to, fill in the test table, listing the good and bad points of each clip.

3. Put your name and form at the top of the page.

4. PRINT OUT the document.
